Most of us follow a morning routine that is based on getting ready for work. We usually feel rushed to get ready, get the kids going, and get out the door headed for work. Usually our routine is habitual but not intentional - not designed to set us up for success for the day. Start by waking up a bit earlier each day and follow the recommendation below and notice the difference in your mood, energy, and productivity.
DID YOU KNOW?
Slow breathing calms your nerves fast. Try 1 minute of “4-seconds in, 6-seconds out” to lower stress and heart rate.
Consistent wake time trains your sleep. Getting up within the same hour every day makes falling asleep easier at night.
A glass of water right after waking helps your brain work better. Even a small water loss (about 1–2% during sleep) can slow thinking and cause headaches.
➡ TRY THIS: 1/ Wake at or around sunrise. 2/ Drink some water, 3/ Go for a short walk outside. 4/ Close your eyes and reflect on your goals for the day. 5/ Avoid drinking coffee for about an hour after waking. Most of these habits are science based suggestions by Andrew Huberman, Neuroscientist and YouTuber, which I've been using for months
